Water mixable oil on wood, 100 × 160 cm
The beginning of this picture, which started with just a sketch. Which made me feel especially
unsettled. Because I wanted to carry that feeling even further, I decided to add other elements. The scene is a common one for me, in a dark night, you shine a light in a dark void and there is a moment of fear about what you will see. I tried to ask myself what I and other people would do and feel if they found themselves in a scene where you are not welcome.
Red
2024
Water mixable oil on wood, 79,5 × 121,5 cm
The painting titled Red is as intense as the color red. This painting started spontaneously and became more detailed through the process. In addition, the meaning also became clearer, I wanted the painting to be intense and almost violent, which for me became a warning about the intensity of the violence.
Artist statement
As an artist, I see my art as a manifestation of my voice. My art is the result of planning, research, and intuition. I am always looking for a way to communicate. I search for new and creative ways to communicate my ideas, going beyond traditional canvases. Making art that is both compelling and unsettling.
I want my art to serve as a catalyst—a spark that encourages people to feel—It is through emotions and experience that we truly connect with one another.
